Over the snow, the Christmas snow,

Joyfully speeding away, 

Hearts are swelling with keen delight

This beautiful Christmas-day,

As jing-a-ling-jingle the sleigh-bells go,

Merrily over the snow.

Flying away on wings of steel,

Swift in their onward filght;

Cheeks with crimson color aglow,

Eyes with enjoyment bright.

Silvery notes of music, float

On the breezes light and free,

Song and laughter, echoing far

Harmonious sounds of glee.

Hands are clasped and fond words said,

While gentle hearts are won.

And who may know what future good

This Christmas day begun.
